Watch out for turtles on the road. Glenn and Initia came across 2, within a week, both in the middle of busy highways.

Second Eastern long-necked turtle (Chelodina longicollis) found in the middle of a highway, Maldon area, in the space of a week. Glenn took it down to the nearest pond, where it eventually swam away from the bank.

Shingle-back lizards also sometimes try to cross highways, and are out this spring.

Echidnas, Walabies, Kangaroos, and various birds, also on the roads. Sometimes bird nests are on trees that line the roadsides. Recognise your safe breaking distance for your car when visiting Maldon.
